My Background
Hi! My name is Christi Brooks. I have two Bachelor's degrees because when I first started college, I picked a career I thought I wanted. By the time I realized it was not going to be a good fit, I was too deep and decided to graduate and find some other job. That turned into multiple outside sales representative jobs for a few Fortune 500 companies, but I was far from living out my dream life. I decided to go back to school for a nursing degree. I was told over and over there was money to be made and that I'd always have a job. After finishing that accelerated BSN program, I started in an emergency department in St. Louis. My pay was acceptable for a first job, but definitely not the "gobs" of money I thought I'd be making! After working as a nurse for 10 years in various fields due to moves (ER, travel ER, OR, clinics, ortho, general surgery, school nursing, supervising) and really never making that crazy amount of money everyone said I would, I found a job teaching medical terminology to high school students for college credit. While the pay was still not "dream pay", it sure beat the exhausting lifestyle, schedule, and burn out of bedside nursing. The summer's off were great! Then, I realized how many teachers use that time off to pick up a second job to supplement their income. This was never something I was going to do until the summer of 2023 when we were blessed with a "SURPRISE"! I found out I was going to be having another girl.
My Why
I am a wife to an extremely supportive husband, a mom to two exceptionally smart, funny, and loving girls with one more bundle of joy coming, and a full time teacher to some pretty awesome 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. This was going to be our first year without daycare and we were excited making plans for new investments, travel opportunities, and other adventures! Life threw us a pretty big curve ball with news of our new addition. While we are thrilled about her joining our crew, we were not prepared to be a family of five. There were so many things to consider! We both knew the jobs we have, while very good jobs by today's standards, were not going to provide for us the way we wanted them to in order to make the moves we wanted to make. We had been looking into several options for quite some time prior to the news of our latest addition, but never really landed on anything. We both dabbled in some "side hustles", but again, nothing really took off for us. Together, our goal was to break away from corporate America so we could have flexibility of schedule, the freedom to pick up sick kiddos without the stress of leaving a job, and even, watch our newest member ourselves without needing a daycare provider. My husband is the BEST girl dad and I cannot wait to give him the freedom to leave his 9-5 FOREVER and be able to stay home with our girls! That is MY ultimate WHY.
My Ah-Ha Moment
I was on TikTok one night, laughing, getting inspiration, learning new dance moves (lol), when I came across a girl talking about a course that changed her life. I was drawn to her video. I clicked on her link and watched another video talking about this course. It resonated with me so much that I signed up for it that night. I thought, I've tried so many other things before, why not give this one a try?!? It was 15 days, but OH...MY...GOODNESS! Was it eye-opening! That course set my life on a new trajectory. It forever changed my mindset and the way I see the world. The focus of the course is about building online success and creating a business, but I learned SO much MORE than that. That is why I want to share my story. So others can see there is another way besides the corporate struggle. MAMA'S: I know you all just want to alleviate the stress in your household so you can all enjoy each other a little more, maybe sign your kids up for that class or camp they wanted, shoot, simply pay for some daycare!! Let me help you change your path! There can be another way! This can help you alleviate some of that stress by teaching you how to create your own financial success.
